A bachelor s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, computer science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience WE''D REALLY PREFER TO SEE: Experience working in a fast-paced environment comprised of multiple team structures where cross-team collaborative is a key to success Ability to work independently, developing effective measures of performance in order to assess progress Previous experience in Higher Education preferred Master s degree (e.g., MBA, Master of Accounting, or Master of Finance) and/or CPA preferred The business analyst will interface with both functional and technical staff on the PeopleSoft Financials support team, with Finance Division staff and with university business officers, school and department administrators, affiliate institutions, and staff. JOB DESCRIPTION: Serves on a daily basis as a liaison point person between UTS and the Finance Division for the PeopleSoft Financials system. Responsible for testing, documenting and troubleshooting functional issues as they arise in the normal course of business; and implementing changes necessary to achieve successful and efficient resolution of functional issues Responsible for working closely with the technical team to resolve any issues or challenges with regard to the PeopleSoft Financials system via technical means and solutions (thus requiring in-depth understanding and proven experience with PeopleSoft as an enterprise system) Involved in developing functional business cases and technical modifications to achieve business case and operational success Responsible for understanding all PeopleSoft Financials modules currently in place within the institution s enterprise system and for learning new modules as they may be added Assists other analysts with the month-end close process as necessary. Participates on projects to upgrade, or apply bundles and fixes to PeopleSoft Financials. Ensures configuration and testing are completed and signed-off to minimize disruption to the institution. May assume a larger role in PeopleSoft Financials, as directed Ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, federal and state regulations and reporting requirements, OMB circulars and compliance or audit activities Supports administration s compliance and related policies and coordinates as needed on policy enforcement Makes recommendations to management Directs record-keeping activities for the responsibilities above Participates as needed in committee meetings Performs related responsibilities as required Leads efforts to ensure that information systems support enterprise mission and objectives. Works closely with departmental customers and administration to conduct business analysis and identify business objectives and requirements. Coordinates the development of technology plans and strategies. Manages, from a client business perspective, related systems projects. Ensures a high level of client satisfaction by monitoring the delivery of ongoing information systems to the enterprise. Performs related responsibilities as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor''s degree and eight years of position specific subject matter knowledge and/or experience in planning and applying information technology to one or more business function or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
